Week 1 · 2026 NFL Season
Data-driven DraftKings Week 1 evaluations, ranked by Slate-IQ Value Score (projected points per $1K salary).
Live Week 1 Evaluations: These grades are built on 2026 Week 1 matchup data, DraftKings salaries, and Vegas lines. They'll be updated each week as new slates, injury reports, and lineup news roll in.
CORE play in Week 1 (23.31 proj, $6,600) vs a leaky WAS run defense (141.8 rush yds/gm allowed) and a favorable Vegas line. New OC Sean Mannion's live debut is the swing variable.
CORE play in Week 1 (18.76 proj, $7,100) leaning on an elite receiving-back matchup vs TB (41.9 yds/gm allowed to RBs, nearly 2x league average).
CORE play in Week 1 (23.33 proj, $7,300) — highest game total on the board (48.5) plus a favorable rushing-TD matchup vs BAL. Daniel Jones' health is the swing factor.
CORE play in Week 1 (22.81 proj, $7,700) driven by volume and receiving role, not a soft matchup — PIT's run D is legitimately tough. Entirely new ATL coaching staff.
CORE play in Week 1 (18.22 proj, $5,700) — the best Value score on the RB list, facing the single worst run defense in the league (CIN, 147.1 yds/gm allowed).
CORE play in Week 1 (18.85 proj, $7,800) — elite target volume in the slate's highest-total game (50.5). Was Questionable (knee) earlier in the week; now expected to play.
The single best matchup on the entire Week 1 slate — 28.27 proj, $6,500, 4.35 Value. PIT allows 137.5 WR yds/gm, the worst mark of any opponent evaluated.
CORE play in Week 1 (16.40 proj, $6,100) vs CHI, which allows the highest WR TD rate (1.00/gm) of any opponent on this list.
CORE play in Week 1 (16.88 proj, $5,800) with a real QB upgrade (Geno Smith), tempered by the lowest game total on the board (38.5).
CORE play in Week 1 (18.58 proj, $6,700) with an elevated projected TD rate vs DET (0.82 WR TDs/gm allowed, well above average).
Value Play in Week 1 (12.18 proj, $4,300) — real TD equity (0.67 on 3.8 catches) but a thin floor given target competition with Jefferson and Hockenson.
CORE play in Week 1 (15.62 proj, $4,700, 3.32 Value — best among TEs on this list) vs the same PIT weakness benefiting Drake London. Real QB-split risk with Atlanta's competition unresolved.
CORE play in Week 1 (8.22 proj, $3,400) vs the league's lowest-scoring opponent offense (CLE, 16.4 pts/gm) and a 7.5-point spread.
VALUE play in Week 1 (19.16 proj, $5,400, 3.55 Value — the best Value score of any QB on this list) against a Baltimore defense that allowed the most passing yards of any team researched for this slate in 2025. Jones is fully cleared after an offseason recovering from surgery and reports genuine early chemistry with new receiver Keenan Allen. His own rushing equity (0.43 projected TDs) adds a real weekly floor beyond the arm.
VALUE play in Week 1 (19.82 proj, $5,900, 3.36 Value) against a Cincinnati defense that's been one of the worst in the league in 2025, allowing 33.3 points per game through the first nine weeks. The 50.5-point game total is tied for the slate's highest, and Mayfield is fully healthy and the clear starter. The touch competition at running back (Irving/Gainwell) caps his rushing equity but does nothing to the huge scoring environment around him.
VALUE play in Week 1 (16.65 proj, $5,200, 3.20 Value) as the passing-down complement in Tampa Bay's backfield, facing the same historically bad Cincinnati run defense already fueling Bucky Irving's evaluation (147.1 rush yards allowed per game, worst in the league). Gainwell's receiving work (4.8 catches, 42.8 yards projected) gives him a real weekly floor even in a committee role. The touch split with Irving, not the matchup, is the swing factor.
VALUE play in Week 1 (13.31 proj, $4,700, 2.83 Value) as a new addition to Indianapolis' offense, with QB Daniel Jones publicly citing "good chemistry" built through camp. Baltimore's leaky pass defense (~259 yards per game allowed in 2025, the softest matchup researched for this slate) and a real target-volume projection (5.8 catches) make this an efficient price. The main unknown is how quickly that camp chemistry translates to Week 1 target share.
WATCH List in Week 1 (12.99 proj, $6,300, 2.06 Value — the lowest Value score in this batch) as Cincinnati's clear WR2 behind Ja'Marr Chase. Higgins is dealing with a minor foot issue (full practice participation, no formal designation), and Tampa Bay's defense is a middle-of-the-pack matchup, not a soft one. The touchdown-heavy nature of his projection (0.59 receiving TDs) makes him a boom-or-bust price at this salary rather than a confident play.
VALUE play in Week 1 (14.16 proj, $3,700, 3.83 Value — the best price-adjusted number of any TE on this list) against a Bengals defense that's been the league's worst matchup for tight ends in 2025 (~97.5 receiving yards and 1.15 TDs allowed per game to the position). Otton is fully cleared after a training-camp hamstring issue and doesn't appear on Tampa Bay's Week 1 injury report. The real variable is touch competition in a crowded pass-catching room, not health or matchup.
WATCH List in Week 1 (7.40 proj, $3,100, 2.39 Value) as Cincinnati's deep, minimum-priced TE2 option. Grade C reflects genuinely modest underlying production (2.6 catches, 29.4 yards projected) even though the price clears the model's value threshold. Tampa Bay's defense doesn't carry the same documented tight-end weakness fueling Cade Otton's evaluation this week, making this a real price floor without a real matchup edge.
Watch List in Week 1 (7.21 proj, $2,800) vs a bottom-10 2025 Panthers offense that threw 12 INTs — Chicago's 1.37 projected interceptions is the highest of this week's defenses, at a modest 2.5-point spread.
Watch List in Week 1 (7.12 proj, $3,200) against a bottom-5 2025 Saints offense (18.0 pts/gm) that allowed 49 sacks — Aidan Hutchinson and a 7-point Lions spread support the matchup, but the Value score doesn't clear the CORE or VALUE bars.
Watch List in Week 1 (7.01 proj, $2,700) — the cheapest, best-value defense this week against the NFL's worst 2025 offense (Raiders, 14.2 pts/gm), tempered by a brand-new Miami coaching staff with zero track record together.
